The FC working mode indicates the working relationship between the FC switch planes of a pair of switch modules (2X/3X or 1E/4E). The value is NPV, Switch, or FSB. Table 1 describes the parameters.
Parameter |
Description |
|---|---|
NPV |
indicates that the FC switch is in transparent transmission mode and connects to other switch using an NP_port. |
Switch (FCF) |
indicates that the FC switch is in FCF mode and can connect to storage devices. |
FSB |
The FCoE switch running FIP snooping is called a FIP Snooping Bridge (FSB). The FSB is used to limit the FCoE traffic forwarding from the servers to the Fiber Channel Forwarder (FCF), protecting FC devices against malicious attacks. In FSB mode, an aggregation link is added to each FC SAN FCoE port. Therefore, aggregation links must be configured on the interconnected FCF switch. |
Perform this configuration only when FCoE interfaces are used. If only FC interfaces are used, ignore this configuration.
Table 2 describes the parameters.
Parameter |
Description |
|---|---|
Enable DCBX |
The default value is enable. |
DCBX version |
The version must be consistent with that of a downstream device.
The default value is intel-oui. |
Table 3 describes the parameters.
Parameter |
Description |
|---|---|
PFC work mode |
NOTE:
When the PFC working mode is set to auto, set Enable DCBX to enable. |
PFC priority |
Indicates whether to enable the PFC priority configuration function. |
Table 4 describes the parameters.
Parameter |
Description |
|---|---|
PG ID |
Specifies the name of the priority group. PG0, PG1, and PG15 cannot be deleted. |
DRR weight |
Set this parameter when PGs except PG15 use the Deficit Round Robin (DRR). The value ranges from 1 to 99. A greater weight indicates a higher priority. The sum of the DRR weights of PG0 and PG1 is 100 and the default value is 50. |
Enable PG traffic shaping |
Allows users to customize traffic policies to shape the traffic of all packets that pass through a port.
|
Queues |
Specifies the priority queue of a priority group. By default, queues 0, 1, 2, 4, and 5 belong to PG0, queues 6 and 7 belong to PG15, and queue 3 belong to PG1. |
Queue Configuration |
Specifies the name of the priority queue. |
PG |
Specifies the priority group of a queue. |
Queue scheduling mode |
The default value is PQ. |
Enable queue traffic shaping |
Allows users to customize traffic policies to shape the traffic of a type of packets (based on the simple traffic classification) that pass through a port, implementing traffic shaping for services, such as voice, data, video services.
The queue traffic shaping function is disabled by default. |
Configure either FCoE Ports Settings or FC Ports Settings. At least one of the two must be configured. In NPV mode, only one of FCoE Ports Settings and FC Ports Settings can be configured.
Parameter |
Description |
|---|---|
FCoE Ports Settings |
Port for sending FCoE data. |
FC Ports Settings |
Port for sending FC data. This parameter is available when the flexible card MX517 is used. |
SAN name |
The name cannot be left blank. It must be a string of up to 20 characters, including letters, digits, and underscores (_), and must start with a letter. |
FCoE Data VLAN |
The FCoE VLAN is used for the FCoE traffic communication between the switch module and the server NIC. The value ranges from 2 to 4063. The FCoE VLAN cannot be the same as the Business VLAN, NPV VLAN, and any other FCoE Data VLAN. |
NPV VLAN |
The NPV VLAN is used for the communication between the switch module and the FCF device. The VLAN must be the same as FCoE VLAN of the external FCF switch. The value ranges from 2 to 4063. The NPV VLAN cannot be the same as the Business VLAN, FCoE Data VLAN, and any other NPV VLAN. NOTE:
Set this parameter only when the FC working mode is NPV. |
This configuration is displayed only when the FC working mode is Switch (FCF).
The New Alias dialog box is displayed. Table 6 describes the parameters.
Parameter |
Description |
|---|---|
Name |
The value is mandatory and contains a maximum of 20 characters, including letters, digits, and underscores (_). The value starts with letters. |
Notes |
Provides additional information. This parameter is optional but cannot contain any Chinese characters. The value can contain a maximum of 63 characters. |
WWPNs |
Example: 01:23:45:67:89:AB:CD:EF or 0123456789ABCDEF. A maximum of 32 WWPNs can be configured at a time. |
This configuration is displayed only when the FC working mode is Switch (FCF).
