    Recently, Industrial Bank exhibited its achievements in "digital twin technology" at the 6th Digital China Summit. The successful application of this technology has accelerated the construction and operation of green, intelligent, and efficient data centers for Industrial Bank.

    A digital twin equipment room is a virtual replica of a physical equipment room that intelligently mirrors the actual conditions of the equipment room in real time. The digital twin technology simulates, verifies, predicts, and controls the full life cycle of the physical entities, forming an optimized closed loop for intelligent decision-making. In this way, unmanned operation and maintenance can be achieved.

    In recent years, Industrial Bank has joined hands with xFusion Digital Technologies Co., Ltd. and Xiamen University to jointly explore the research and development and application of digital twin technology. xFusion assists Industrial Bank to build a digital twin platform with the Fuzhou main production center as a model. The infrastructure, IT devices, and application systems of the main production center is integrated in reality and mapped to the digital world to establish a virtual data center. Each component inside the server, including the mainboard, CPUs, and drive arrays, can be analyzed through each life-size digital twin.

    "The digital twin platform not only allows real-time view of asset information, but also automates the management of IT devices." Said a representative from the back. Take servers as an example. The digital twin platform provides four functions including intelligent deployment, fault management, automatic inspection, and firmware upgrade. Intelligent deployment enables automatic discovery and management of new devices, and automatic deployment of discovered devices, improving device rollout efficiency.

    By combining the temperature sensors inside the server and the temperature sensors in the dynamic environment, a refined cloud temperature view is depicted through real-time data synchronization between physical and virtual entities. In addition, the intelligent analysis of information such as power and load of the equipment room enables energy efficiency optimization of air conditioning and IT devices to achieve the purpose of energy saving and emission reduction. Take a 1000 kW equipment room as an example. Each time the PUE value is reduced by 1, the equipment room can save 87,000 kWh of electricity and 61,000 kg of carbon emissions per year, the effect of which is equivalent to the planting of 3400 trees per year.

    The digital twin platform can also serve as a teaching and training platform and a technology innovation platform to help technicians quickly understand and master data center O&M capabilities, and to provide data analysis and new technology verification for further building green data centers.
